I’m thrilled to share a huge milestone—my manuscript is officially with the copyeditor! 🎉
After months of writing, refining, and pouring my heart into every chapter, it’s surreal to know that my book is nearly ready for you. What began as a simple idea fueled by my passion to help my own dog Pablo, has grown into something I truly hope will make a lasting impact on dogs and the people who love them. From late nights and early mornings to endless coffee refills, this journey has been intense, but so worth it.
Before I sent the manuscript off to my copyeditor, a group of incredible test readers and dog trainers generously gave their time, insight, and honest feedback to help shape this book into something truly helpful and meaningful. I feel deeply grateful to have such talented, thoughtful friends who believed in the vision and helped me refine each chapter with care.
Their input made this book stronger—and now, with copyedits underway, I’m one step closer to putting it in your hands. I can’t wait to share what’s coming next!
Why Did I Write This Book?
Because of messages like this one I received just this week:
“Hey there! I am interested in booking a consultation to talk about my dog, Sophie. She is almost three years old and is a cattle dog, Australian shepherd mix. She is great with people and very sweet. She’s always been leash reactive but usually has been good with other dogs off the leash. Just in the last month I’ve noticed her behavior change and she is attacking other dogs if we meet them on a trail or at the beach. Help!!”
I receive messages like this every single week. And every time I do, I think the same thing:
I want to help more people understand why their dog’s behavior is changing—and how to prevent similar issues through thoughtful, individualized socialization.
Not all dogs are the same, and their training and socialization shouldn’t be either. This book is my way of reaching more dog owners with practical tools, insights, and guidance to build stronger, safer, and more understanding relationships with their dogs.
